Trump on Presidential Policy

I am urprised he came out against same sex marriage with such a weak response. he’s still formulating an opinion on abortion (or rather “why” he’s prolife and what he’d do about it) but thinks its gonna go down fine with a “meh i just dong…*cringes* feeeeeel good about it” on this issue? disappointing. he could be an interesting voice if he was better managed (along with some of the others who have no shot at the actual nom).

Bill O’Reilly hot for the Jonas

While teasing the upcoming segment where he praised whichever the youngest Jonas is, Bill O’Reilly said “the incredibly hot Jonas Brothers”. He was of course using “hot” as “popular”, but it’s funnier to think of the use of “hot” as “sexually desirable”. *giggles*

Bonus: Bill Maher calling Bill O’ a douche or a fuckhead or something, idk.

Statistics vs Bill O’Reilly critics

I saw this link posted of a Huffington Post page that is parroting a Media Matters claim that O’Reilly is using fuzzy math, but I don’t get it…

oreillymathfacebook

Most of you probably caught why this is allegedly a dumb thing to say right away, but when I saw it I was left with a big “wtf?” until the person who posted it explained the accusation to me…

I commented on the posted item asking “what evidence do you have that countries with higher populations do NOT experience vastly more fatal accidents and fatal crimes?”. Then I received more understanding on what exactly Media Matters and the HuffPo are charging:

Stephanie: Did you watch the clip? He says that America’s life expectancy is lower than Canada because “America has 10 times as many people which translates into 10 times as many accidents, crimes…”

So what he is saying is that is this. Say Canada has 100 people and 5 die due to accidents and crimes. “America has ten times as many people and ten times as many accidents and crime”. Therefore, America would have 1000 people and 50 would die from accidents and crimes. Thus 5% die from accidents and crimes in both countries. His argument, therefore, makes no sense, as he argues that America has a lower life expectancy because the same proportion of people dies from accidents and crime in America as inCanada.

Ah, I see now… The 3 of them are creating a straw man argument by deleting the context of the original statement which is right there in the video in order falsely impugn O’Reilly for making an alleged fallacious statement.

The email noted “life expectancy in Canada under our health system is higher than the USA” and O’Reilly responded that this is to be expected because the USA suffers higher car accidents and deadly crime and not lack of medical care. No argument based on the statistical fallacy you describe was made because no statistics were given. O’Reilly is speaking colloquially, and not citing “10 times” or “10 percent” in any official capacity, but rather is making an astute and accurate observation that America’s life expectancy is lower (78 vs Canada’s 80) due to factors that have nothing to do with either countries health care system. He attributes the higher death by car and crime number to higher population, leading me to ask what makes

O’Reilly gets an apology from Scott McClellan over Talking Points insinuation

Bill O’Reilly Grills Scott McClellan about his claim that “Talking Points” were delivered from the White House to “some” personalities (not reporters) at Fox News (O’Reilly included). McClellon says he “messed up” by allowing the insinuation – O’Reilly insists that’s not good enough because it’s an outright “lie” – fireworks ensue until McClellon finally folds like a cheap suit and apologizes to O’Reilly with an “I’m Sorry Bill” – WOW…

O’Reilly responds to the Inside Edition rage tape

Although I hate liars, I was somewhat disappointed at the lack of stupid comments I was seeing online about the original video if only in a “its too quiet” sense, but finally this one has generated some stupid here and there of some bloggers outraged that Pappa Bear only mentioned it in passing (apparently they wanted a press conference) and had a sense of humor about it instead of giving some kind of boo hoo i’m no sorry speech.

Bill O’Reilly gets at least 10% more awesome with release of angry Inside Edition tape release

Ho man. I llllllllllllllllllove eeeiiiit. This might be my favorite O’Reilly video now. The only part that kinda spoils it for me is everyone lying about it because they don’t know Bill like I do. Everywhere I see this posted, its labeled as something like “O’Reilly goes berserk” or “O’Reilly loses it”. Goes berserk? eh. maybe. But “loses it”, absolutely not. One of my favorite features of angry irishman O’Reilly is that he’ll let genuine rage pour out and then turn off the hot like a faucet and go back to cold.

Check this video out dude – its skill. He’s completely pissed at whoever fucked up his teleprompter, frustrated at not being able to do the wrap up without it with only seconds before going live and then BAM – dude pulls it off perfectly, professionally and calmly. Then as soon as camera’s are off he can go back to the rage and tear off his jacket and microphone and probably crack some interns skull in the back room.

Colbert will probably have something (hopefully amusing) to say about it.

UPDATE: as expected, Colbert parodies and a remix is born.
