Moveon’s ridiculous “you can’t have him” Campaign ad

John McCain is SUCH a vulnerable candidate ripe for such a plethora of targeting this season – which is why Its so stupid for so many campaign operatives to keep pounding this smear about the “100 year war”. I mean jee-zuuuuus. enough already. It’s so easy to expose as a smear. Quit hurting yourselves by using it!

Quick background on that for those of you that are unaware: at a townhall meeting, McCain answered a question by saying he was okay with us literally being in Iraq (not fighting a war like we are now) for a long ass time just like we still have bases in Japan and Germany. Watch the video here. Soon after he snagged the nomination, a popular attack line has been to scare people into thinking he wants to keep blowing shit up for 100 years (they do this obviously by failing to mention the part where he said “as long as they’re not being killed or injured” – paraphrase).

And now MoveOn.org comes out with this…

You might be surprised to know that I was the first one casted in this part, but they cut me out for this girl and the “cuter” kid…
My version:

Hater Preacher at Obama’s Church, take two

Well we know one thing at least: the Trinity United is a chuch-o-jerks. In every one of these videos showing haters at the pulpit, they are met with laughter and applause and approving gestures and noises. Sad. I didn’t realize Catholics taught that it was cool to publicly ridicule and humiliate your opponents in a political contest.

Definitely the best part is when Mika puts a politically correct disclaimer out there saying she doesn’t want to judge Michael Pfleger or Trinity church cuz she’s white and Tucker doesnt miss a beat without saying “I do” and that it has nothing to do with “black or what” you dummy (my words), it has to do with hatred.

Fox News girl fired for telling McCain she voted for him

MediaBistro reports that  “A 24-year-old Fox News Channel production assistant was fired this morning for something she said during the red carpet arrivals at the Time 100 Gala last night.” That “something” was sucking up to Sen John McCain as he walked by. The assistant reportedly said “I voted for you in the primary, you’re going to win” which an FNC spokesperson called “journalistically unacceptable” in confirming that the girl was let go from the company.

It’s harsh to fire the poor girl under standards of proper journalism despite having such a low position, but probably had to be done even though there is literally NO way Fox News could have not gotten bashed for this. Consider every scenario:

They fire her: they’re just keeping up appearances or are being too harsh.
They don’t fire her: they don’t care about the ethics problem because they’re a propaganda machine.
The comment was to Hillary or Obama and they fire her: it was because she stepped out of the talking points of their propaganda machine.
The comment was to Hillary or Obama and they DON’T fire her: she was lying just to suck up to either candidate.

Dumb moment with no winners but worth reporting for exactly that reason as it illustrates an odd position in journalism Fox News inhabits that ironically holds it to higher standards than its cable news competitors, CNN & MSNBC.
