Could “Back To You” be brought back… to you?

The recently canceled sitcom, Back To You could possibly switch to CBS who first eyed the series before Fox snagged it. So why not encourage this? Fox has a terrible record of canceling shows that are just starting to gain an audience and make the switch from cult following to mainstream popularity anyway.

Fox’s fall schedule is set to be announced Thursday in New York. The network declined comment on the fate of “Back to You.”

Grammer said he spoke with Fox executives Peter Liguori and Kevin Reilly on Saturday and that they didn’t fully explain the decision. He speculated that their interest in the show had “waned” so they were unwilling to be patient with it.

“I’m not really sure what the real reasoning is. I think they ended up with a show that was going to be a great show. It was a great show,” he said.

An online petition campaign is afoot to save the show and Grammer and his wife, Camille, sent an e-mail note to friends inviting them to jump aboard. Grammer said he’s “nursing a tiny hope” that CBS might pick up the show after talking with CBS CEO Leslie Moonves.

“I spoke with Les the other day and he was not completely discouraging,” Grammer said, wryly.

Grammer and his wife e-mailed friends that if they wished to voice support for the show to CBS, “you won’t hear us complaining.”

Here’s part of one episode where they sent a dude to Anthrocon, which, God help us all… is a real thing where people who like to dress up as animals get together for non-sexual…um… meetings I guess:

And his coverage of him actually there is even better:

C’mon now. You’re telling me this is less worthy than anything else currently running in the same or surrounding time slots on any of the main networks?

I say give Back To You some after-the-fact support and contact FOX to express disappointment and more importantly, contact CBS to express encouragement.

FINALLY: Worlds largest rubber band ball record broken

I tried this for awhile but got tired of it. I kept my tin foil ball (copying the boulder sized one on Pee Wee’s Playhouse which impressed me) going much longer.

Screw this guys ghetto friends and bless his supportive, encouraging “momma” (which i have no idea why the reporter called her that, so I’m just gonna go with “racism” as the explanation).

Exit question: will we ever stop with the tired insult of saying someone has too much free time on their hands? How annoying is that? Do YOU also have too much time mr reporter guy? Cuz if not, then why are you wasting it on such a story that according to you isn’t newsworthy? Jerk.

How Modern Liberals Think

A speech full of astute observations on modern liberals.
The thesis: that it is through a passionate pursuit of utopianism that Liberals go so against established logical norms. That because none of these ideas, moral codes, philosophies, etc have worked in producing an ideal world, they must be rejected in favor of the ideas, codes and philosophies they compete against. They reject (what western society had previously established as) common sense and conventional wisdom precisely because they are common and conventional.

Bankrupt Sharper Image to close remaining 86 stores

Awwwwwwwwwww MAN! This sucks. Every time I pass the Sharper Image stores in LA, New York and Honolulu I always stop in to play with some of the toys and most definitely get an ijoy chair massage on my back and calves. Now I’m screwed. Never again being able to get free muscular relieve within malls from products I’m too cheap to purchase. =(

Bankrupt gadget retailer Sharper Image plans to close all its remaining stores, its new owners announced Sunday.

The company expects to sell $50 million in inventory as it shutters 86 stores across the United States, the joint owners of Hilco Organization and Gordon Brothers said in a statement.

The group, which purchased the gadget retailer’s assets in a bankruptcy auction Thursday for $49 million, said it has developed a licensing strategy for wholesale, retail, direct-to-retail, e-commerce, and catalog businesses.

Sharper Image filed for bankruptcy protection in February with plans to shut about half of its 184 stores and reorganize. The San Francisco-based company said it had lost more than $135 million since early 2005. The company put itself up for sale in April.

Blame Congress for high oil prices

From David Strom.

How stupid do they think we are? How is it possible to simultaneously wean ourselves from oil and the carbon dioxide emissions that stems from it, keep oil cheap and abundant, drill for oil absolutely nowhere, and sue oil companies without hurting consumers? Oh, and don’t forget to slap a “windfall profits” tax on the oil companies just for good measure.

It’s not possible to have all these “good” things together. Instead, we are seeing the consequences of following the anti-oil policies being pushed in Congress. Gas prices have gone through the roof, oil supplies for the future are threatened, and if the lawsuits against “big oil” go through exploration for future supplies will dry up leaving the world with little option but to get poorer over the next few years.

And the unpleasant fact is that a poorer world will be dirtier and less healthy for human beings, and not so great for nature either. Unless we want to concede that the earth would be better off completely without human beings—and just who would judge it so anyway?—then it is time to recognize that both human beings and the earth will be better off the wealthier we become. And for the foreseeable future, that wealthier future will depend upon drilling for oil.

Congress has been standing in the way of that better, wealthier future. By restricting prospecting for and drilling for oil within the United States, Congress has been keeping oil prices higher than they otherwise would be. And while high oil prices will help wean America off of oil eventually, our current experience shows that in the short run they just hurt consumers and help push our economy into a 1970’s-like tailspin that will make Americans less, rather than more environmentally conscious.

Oil prices will only drop if oil supplies can increase, and oil supplies can increase only if oil companies are allowed to drill for oil and be handsomely compensated for extracting and selling it.

Congress should be opening up the continental shelf and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for oil extraction instead of raking oil company executives over the coals for not selling their product below world market price.

Consumers will benefit only if oil companies can extract, sell, and handsomely profit from the sale of oil that is currently under ground. No amount of complaining by Congressmen can change the laws of economics that makes that so.

Hater Preacher at Obama’s Church, take two

Well we know one thing at least: the Trinity United is a chuch-o-jerks. In every one of these videos showing haters at the pulpit, they are met with laughter and applause and approving gestures and noises. Sad. I didn’t realize Catholics taught that it was cool to publicly ridicule and humiliate your opponents in a political contest.

Definitely the best part is when Mika puts a politically correct disclaimer out there saying she doesn’t want to judge Michael Pfleger or Trinity church cuz she’s white and Tucker doesnt miss a beat without saying “I do” and that it has nothing to do with “black or what” you dummy (my words), it has to do with hatred.
